What is Player

A player is a device that connects to Booth Beam and displays your content on a screen.

Any screen you want to use — a TV at your trade show booth, a monitor in your office lobby, a projector at an event — needs a player device connected to it. The player opens Booth Beam, shows a pairing code, and after you link it to your account, your content starts playing automatically.

Once paired, content updates happen in the background. You don’t need to touch the device every time you make a change in Booth Beam.

  1. Connect a player device to your screen (or use a screen with built-in Android TV)
  2. The player opens Booth Beam and displays a pairing code
  3. In your Booth Beam account, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the pairing code
  4. Your content starts playing

That’s it. From this point, any changes you make in Booth Beam will appear on the screen automatically.

Before you start: You need a Booth Beam account to pair a player and display content. If you don’t have one yet, sign up here.

|Player type|Best for|Difficulty| |---|---|---| |Computer with Browser|Quick setup, office or event use with an existing laptop or PC|Easy| |Android TV|Dedicated TV or streaming stick; hands-off setup|Easy–Medium| |Raspberry Pi|Low-cost, always-on dedicated player|Medium|

Not sure which to choose? A computer with a browser is the fastest way to get started. If you need a dedicated device that runs without a laptop, go with an Android TV device.
