Auto-start Fully Kiosk Browser
By default, Android TV will not launch apps on startup unless you explicitly allow it. This means that after a power outage or a device restart, your screen will sit on the Android TV home screen instead of showing your Booth Beam content — until someone manually opens Fully Kiosk again.
This article walks through the three steps required to fix that.
Device note: The steps below are based on a Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen), which is the hardware we have tested and confirmed working. Menu names may differ slightly on other Android TV devices, but the structure is the same.
Before you start: Fully Kiosk Browser must already be installed and set up with your Booth Beam content. If you haven’t done that yet, start with Fully Kiosk Browser — Setup Guide.
Step 1 — Grant system permissions to Fully Kiosk
Section titled “Step 1 — Grant system permissions to Fully Kiosk”Android TV requires two permissions before any app can launch itself on startup. These are not granted automatically when you install an app — you have to enable them manually.
Permission 1: Display over other apps
Section titled “Permission 1: Display over other apps”From the Android TV home screen
- Open Quick Settings (swipe down from the top of the screen)
- Select All Settings (the gear icon ⚙️)
- Go to Apps → Special app access → Display over other apps
- Find Fully Kiosk Browser in the list and set it to ON

Permission 2: Modify system settings
Section titled “Permission 2: Modify system settings”To set this option
- Go back to Special app access
- Select Modify system settings
- Find Fully Kiosk Browser and set it to ON

Press the Home button on your remote to return to the home screen.
Step 2 — Enable Launch on Boot inside Fully Kiosk Browser
Section titled “Step 2 — Enable Launch on Boot inside Fully Kiosk Browser”Now you need to Enable Launch on Boot option in Fully Kiosk Browser
- Open Fully Kiosk Browser from your app list
- Once it loads, press the Back button on your remote (the left-arrow button). A settings panel slides in from the left side of the screen
- Go to Settings → Device Management
Find Launch on Boot and set it to Yes

Press the Home button on your remote to return to the Android TV home screen.
Step 3 — Restart and confirm
Section titled “Step 3 — Restart and confirm”From the home screen
- press and hold the power button on your remote
- A menu appears with two options: Sleep and Restart
- Select Restart
After the device restarts, Fully Kiosk should open automatically within 5–10 seconds of the Android TV home screen appearing, and your Booth Beam content will start playing.

If the device freezes during the restart: This occasionally happens and is not a sign that something is wrong. If the screen goes blank and nothing happens for more than a minute, unplug the device from the power outlet, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. The device will boot normally.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Fully Kiosk does not start after the restart
Section titled “Fully Kiosk does not start after the restart”The most common cause is that the permissions from Step 1 were not saved. Go back to Step 1 and check that both permissions still show ON. On some devices, toggling alone is not enough — you may need to press OK on the remote to confirm each change.
Device freezing or stopping unexpectedly during use
Section titled “Device freezing or stopping unexpectedly during use”If the device works initially but freezes or drops out during an event, check how it is powered.
The device must be connected directly to a wall outlet using its own power adapter. Do not power it through a TV’s USB port. USB ports on TVs deliver less current than the device needs to run a browser continuously, and this causes instability over time.
If you are currently using a TV USB port for power, switch to the dedicated adapter and plug it into the wall.
